We have provided answers below to many of the questions those interested in joining our Club have asked in the past. We’re ready to answer any you might have as well.
Q: Where is Highlands Falls Country Club located and are you open to the public?
A: We are a private, member owned club located just two miles from downtown Highlands on Hwy. 64.
Q: Do you have to live in the community to be a Member? Is club membership mandatory?
A: Membership is not mandatory and although the majority of our Members live “Inside the Gates”, local residents are also considered for membership.
Q: How many, what types of homes are in Highlands Falls and what is the price range?
A: We have approximately 400 homes with single family, golf/lake villas and condos ranging from the high $200,000’s to over $2,000,000.
Q: Is there a designated real estate firm for the community?
A: No, we work with several of the area’s real estate offices including Berkshire Hathaway, Country Club Properties, Sotheby’s, Pat Allen, White Oak, Silver Creek and Landmark.
Q: What are the associated HOA fees to live in the community?
A: Please contact the Highlands Falls Community Association at 828-526-2203 for that information.
Q: Regarding the recent $7.2M club renovation, what exactly was done?
A: All eighteen holes of the golf course and a complete makeover of the clubhouse.
Q: I know the private clubs on the plateau are seasonal. What is open and closed on a yearly basis at HFCC?
A: Clubhouse food & beverage service opens in mid-May and typically closes the last Sunday in October. The pool and tennis courts close during the Winter months. The Fitness Center and Spa are open year round as well as the golf course, croquet and pickleball weather permitting.
Q: What are “Vertical” club privileges?
A: As a Member of HFCC, your children, grandchildren, parents and grandparents would all have the same club privileges as you at no extra cost. They can even have their own charge accounts set up!
Q: What is the process to join the club?
A: Membership is by invitation only. Prospective Members are required to complete a Membership Proposal and submit it along with a letter of recommendation from two current members in good standing. Membership is granted through an approval process of the membership, Membership Committee and the Board of Directors.
Q: What if I am interested in joining the club, but I do not know any Members?
A: The majority of our new Members are referred by existing Members, however, as more people move to Highlands, the need for sponsorship assistance occasionally occurs. George Thompson, our Membership Director, can assist you in providing introductions to Members.
Q: May I visit and take a tour of HFCC?
A: We encourage all prospective Members to schedule a time to visit with George Thompson. Whether it is a club and grounds tour, a weekend Discovery Experience or a 30-60 day Provisional Guest membership, he is happy to assist.
Q: If I plan on coming to the Highlands area this upcoming season, is there a home rental list available?
A: Yes, we have both an “Inside the Gates” list and a local list of homes available. Contact the Membership Office.
